We've been travelling around Europe for years with our camper and cats, visiting over 2,000 sites along the way. Because we love travelling spontaneously, we built an app that makes finding a place to stay easy for you too.
About us – in brief
We've been a couple for 15 years, and from the very beginning we've shared a passion for camping – and for building things ourselves. The result: Camping App.

Camping App and Nordcamp – together with the former Wellness Camp app – have been downloaded more than 3 million times; around 1.5 million campers use the apps actively.

We speak at shows and on podcasts about camping overtourism, legal wild camping and camping with a cat.
How it all began
It started one evening in the Palatinate: we'd left Frankfurt late, just wanted to arrive somewhere – and after several full stopovers ended up on a sloping car park in the dark. Our printed stopover guide was sorted by postcode, which meant nothing to us in an unfamiliar area. We realised: this is no way to enjoy camping. That's where the sentence was spoken that set everything in motion: "Why is there nothing that makes finding a place to stay genuinely easy?"
What we realised
That evening we understood how flexible camping has become – and how little printed guides reflect that: no up-to-date information, no availability, no quick alternatives. We wanted to create something that really helps on the road: less searching, more travelling – whether into the city or into nature, to a winery or somewhere with a spa.
What it has become
Our first app version went live in 2015. Small, clear, practical. Today it offers over 60,000 sites across Europe and Morocco: motorhome stopovers, campsites, private pitches, wineries, breweries, restaurants – exactly the variety that modern camping needs. Add features like route search and the travel log. And because exchanging tips on the road is worth its weight in gold, there's Camping App Social with groups, tips and events. Around 1.5 million campers actively use the app – we're number two in the market, born from a moment when we ourselves desperately needed a better solution.
What drives us today
We love that our app grows with the community. Every idea, every piece of feedback makes it more practical. What touches us most are the conversations at shows and the messages from the road: frustrated at first because something isn't working – grateful later because the problem has been solved. That closeness is the reason we do all of this.
